An event was held at our faculty within the scope of the “Mobile Press House” project, which was launched by the Journalists’ Association (Gazeteciler Cemiyeti) with the aim of supporting public access to news under challenging conditions and creating spaces where journalists can continue their professional activities.
The event, which lasted approximately three hours and was held outdoors, aimed to help students develop their professional skills, learn in a hands-on manner how journalism can be sustained under difficult conditions, become familiar with mobile journalism equipment, and gain field experience. Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to communicate directly with professional journalists and were informed about the technical equipment used in the mobile press house as well as news production processes in the field. The project team was met with strong interest from the students.
In the practical session, students carried out news scenarios by taking on different roles such as news source, reporter, and cameraman. In this way, they had the opportunity to experience firsthand the entire process, from planning a news story to producing and presenting it in the field. The “Mobile Press House” event proved to be productive in terms of providing students with experience in an environment close to real field conditions and contributing to their understanding of current journalistic practices.
