The Faculty of Communication was established in accordance with Article 30 of Law No. 1983/2809, based on the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 27 September 2010, and came into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette No. 27747 on 2 November 2010. The Department of Journalism, founded within the faculty, commenced its undergraduate program in the 2011–2012 academic year with an initial enrollment of 52 students.

 

In the 2015–2016 academic year, the Department of Public Relations and Publicity was launched as the second active undergraduate program, admitting 50 students. With these two undergraduate programs, the faculty also began to offer graduate-level education.

 

The faculty currently hosts two master’s programs affiliated with the departments of General Journalism and Public Relations. In addition, the master’s program in Communication and Social Transformation, offered under the Institute of Social Sciences, is conducted by the faculty’s academic staff.
